Our History
The Guild of St. Agnes was established in 1913 as a shelter for destitute women and children. Upon the onset of World War I, the Guild became a place for women to learn domestic arts in order to find employment while their spouses were at war. Once these women were employed, their children were in need of care and the Guild responded.
Since then, the Guild of St. Agnes has been sensitive to the community's need for
a safe, nurturing environment where care is personal and your child is treated as
an exceptional individual.
The Guild has grown over the years to include 6 childcare centers and 9 school age programs throughout Central Massachusetts. In addition, a home-based setting is offered for those families who prefer a smaller setting. For those families, there are
4 family care offices located in Devens, Spencer, Whitinsville and Worcester.
From these humble, yet proud beginnings the Guild has continued to grow in response
to the vital need for affordable childcare in a safe, nurturing environment.
